Ever since the cats at Catster and the dogs at Dogster have discovered they could change their backgrounds, add pictures and control the fonts, one area has eluded them; the frame around their profile.
The frames, as one friend put it, have now been conquered. This explains a method on how to remove the frames and/or create your own frame. It is divided into 3 parts: Introduction to the Frame Parts, Removing the Frame, and Create Your Own Customized Frame. So let's begin.
Introduction to the Frame Parts
The frame is made up of 8 parts. (See Figure 1)
- #topFrame
This image is 644 pixels wide and 22 pixels high and runs across the top of the profile.
- #topLeftFrame
This is set to transparent and will not be a part of the custom frames at this time.
- #topRightframe
Same as 2 only on the right side.
- #leftFrame
This is a band 22 pixels wide. It starts on the bottom of the topFrame on the left side and continues down until it reaches the top of the next frame part (#6). Part #2 sits on top of the leftFrame section.
- #rightFrame
The band which runs down the right side is 20 pixels wide. (Yes, that's 20 not 22.) Part #3 sits on top of this section.
- #bottomLeftFrame
This hold the image for the start of the bottom left corner. It is 22 pixels wide by 31 pixels high.
- #bottomRightFrame
The start of the bottom left corner. It is 20 pixels wide by 31 pixels high.
- #bottomFrame
As the name indicates, it is the bottom of the frame. The size is 644 pixels wide by 16 pixels high.
Figure 1: Frame IDs
There 4 more containers we need to identify. (See Figure 2)
- #contentTable
Holds our pictures, bio fields and diaries. It includes the frame and the footer area below the frame. It extends from the top of the top frame all the way down to the bottom of the page. The width of this area is 644 pixels.
- #profileContent
This is the area within the frame containing the pictures and text (our profiles). This container is 600 pixels wide.
- #bottomCenter
A small area of filler below the profileContent and above the bottomFrame. The height is controlled by bottom corners. Width is 600 pixels.
- #siteFooter
The footer area has the site and contact information for Catster/Dogster. The footer is 644 pixels wide.
Figure 2: Container IDs
Now that we have all of the pieces parts identified, we can proceed with how to use the IDs.
