The
Ohio & Erie Canal in Summit County (Part 2) |
| The Ohio & Erie
Canal continues south through Peninsula and the former towns of
Everett, Ira, and Botzum. The Cuyahoga Valley National Park ends at
the Botzum Trailhead. This section features 6 locks, all of which
have remains. There are also remains of the Peninsula and Furnace
Run Aqueducts. The culvert at Yellow Creek also remains even though
the canal bed disappears due to road construction. |
