| The
upper part of the track features the village, centered around some
painted toyset buildings which blend into the painted background. Here a
Scalextric Cadillac LMP leads a SCX Audi R8, a Fly Joest Porsche and a
Ninco BMW out of the esses and down the hill into the long back
straight. |

east past the main grandstand and into the pits. The stacked sandbags at
the right are from a discount store army playset. The flagmans boxes on
either side of the finish line are constructed with heavy art board and
covered with self-adhesive inkjet paper. |

| A
closer view of the esses heading toward the village. The gazebo and
clock tower are inexpensive china "collectables" bought at a
JoAnn fabrics store after Christmas; all that was required was to paint
out the white "snow" that was on the roofs...I also thought
the pieces matched the architectural style of the Schweiz-Baden
region. The kraft-paper hillsides are also evident; a little
additional painting and the application of some lichen greenery will
help complete the illusion. |
