Suntop wanders through the forest. He sees a young prince with his advisor Hue and a boy.
The prince swims in a lake. The boy heard there were things in the water. Hue knocks him
in the water. He must stay there until they're out of sight. Suntop sees a monster in the
water and falls off a tree. Startled, it dives. Suntop and the boy decide to get to
safety.
New Blood # 2 "Darkness Rising Part 2"
The boy, Eric, brings Suntop to a nearby castle. Servant boys are preparing dinner for the
prince. Eric disguises Suntop. In the banquet hall with his chancellor Aaron. The boys
serve dinner. Prince Brian is interested in speaking to the wizard. There are hauntings.
Eric and Suntop sneak out. They see the wizard, Tymmon. He's the source of Suntop's
"magic feeling." Brian calls Tymmon. Suntop is taken to Eric's room in the lower
floors. He became a page when his parents died. Suntop feels something bad is going to
happen. The door opens and two pages walk in, curious about Suntop. A ghost of his father
comes to Brian saying to trust the wizard and the chamberlain. Hue sees it. Tymmon did it
secretly, commanded by an unknown master. The boys tease Suntop about his ears when a
monster comes in and grabs one. He walks off and the boy screams.

Suntop hears the boy's screams stop below. He must follow the monster. Eric reluctantly
comes. Hue is with Brian. He saw the ghost as well. A boy comes, saying a monster took
Timmy. Aaron the chamberlain doesn't believe it. Hue heads down. Aaron goes to tell the
wizard. Suntop feels the dark magic. It's Winnowill. Hue runs into them. The wizard tells
Aaron he knows about the monster. Aaron is angry. They only agreed to the ghost to make
Brian trust him. But the wizard dreams of Winnowill. Hue and the boys are in the ruins of
an ancient keep. They find caves, which allowed the monster into the forest pond. There's
a pool of magic. Aaron attacks and Hue stabs him. He falls into the water. Tymmon arrives.
Winnowill is doing this through him. Aaron somehow gets up again. When Suntop gets near
Tymmon, his mistress leaves him helpless. Aaron falls, grabbing Tymmon. Both go into the
water. It becomes solid, locking up the magic. Before he heads home, Suntop sends to Eric,
saying 'friends.'
