This story follows Ekuar, Rayek, and Winnowill (residing in Rayek's mind). They are
traveling across a desert and come across a girl being attacked by wolves. Rayek fights
them off. The girl's name is Finalla Retsdotter. They agree to escort her back to her
father.
Rogue's Curse Part 2 (EQ2 # 1)
Rayek is still tormented by Winnowill even in his sleep. They all come across Finalla's
father Ret and uncle Nari Addason. Nari doesn't trust Rayek and Ekuar. Ret knows about the
"spirits." Ekuar and Rayek are paid for their services. Nari has assassins try
to kill Ret so he can make off with their fortune. Nari is killed. The assassins take
Finalla. Rayek and Ekuar bring her back. Ret blames Finalla for the bandits taking the
fortune. Ekuar tosses Ret their payment and he and Rayek leave them.
Rogue's Curse Part 3 (EQ2 # 3)
Rayek and Ekuar come upon a mining colony in the Djunsland wilderness. "Mama"
Shayan allows them to work for her at her House of Comforts. Ekuar shapes the rocks in her
garden. Thegan Amuthson, who's in charge of the mine, wants the House of Comforts moved
near the mines under new management. Rayek takes one of the girls to bed and Winnowill
burns her face.
Rogue's Curse Part 4 (EQ2 # 8)
Rayek and Ekuar are traveling again. Rayek wakes up one morning and discovers that he
resembles a high one. It was Winnowill's doing. He finds that he can no longer silence
her. She can now control his body when he's distracted. They come to a town and are
attacked. Winnowill takes over and incinerates them.
