Synopsis: Adventures in the age of Piracy. Players play both
a pirate and a King's commissioner trying to become the most "notorious"
pirate while simultaneously hunting down the other players' pirates. The trick
is a player can only move his pirate or his commissioner on a given turn, but
not both. Pirates gain notoriety by plundering merchant ships that appear randomly
throughout the game.

Synopsis: A card game based on trading crops of beans. A player
plants fields of beans and tries to cash them in for money. However, bean cards
are drawn at random each turn that force the player to either rip out a field
for little or no money, or trade these cards away to other players for beans
that are needed. This game has a lot of interaction as players are
constantly trying to trade beans that they don't want for beans that they
need. The question is, will the trade benefit the other player more or less
than it will benefit you.
This was nominated for Germany's 1997 "Game of the Year".

Synopsis: This is a card game that plays very much like a boardgame. An innovative design that
has players creating a map that shows the spread of the Civil War as the game goes on. Card play brings in new
commanders and armies as the game proceeds. An ingenious game that is highly recommended. Be forwarned, however,
that a game can become very long. Also, the rules that are included in the game are very confusing and vague. In
all fairness to Q.E.D., they have recognized this and have posted new rules and examples on their web site. If you
are a Civil War buff, this game is a must own.

Synopsis: A fun, light card game in which players try to amass the most
cards of 4 different suites (colors). A tableau is dealt out (very much like a Klondike Solitaire
tableau) and players take turns pulling uncovered cards from it. Some cards have from one
to four "pirate flags" on them allowing you to steal from one to four cards from another
player's collection. When the tableau is gone the scores are tallied. There is also a
separate score card that changes every round. It describes how many points each color is
worth. Since it changes every round, and you keep your collections from round to round, you
never know if the color you are heavy in this round will be worth very little in the next
round. This game is a terrific filler and a wonderful family game.
