Chemometrics - Methodology
Perform exploratory data analysis
- Develop a basic knowledge of your data.
- Means, standard deviations, ranges, etc.
- Watch for outlying values; are results consistant with reality?
- Check for Gaussian distribution of variables.
- Look for strong linear relationships.
Gather information which might prove pertinent.
Familiarity with the data is valuable later in the analysis.
