Chemometrics - Avoiding pitfalls

1. Don't expect something for/from nothing
   • Chemometric techniques aren't magical, surefire methods.
   • The techniques can't be used as "black boxes".
   • You can't extract useful information from bad data.

2. Keep your eyes and mind open.
   • Know your subject as well as is possible.
   • Monitor your characterized systems for changes.
   • Don't become too fond of any one technique.
