What's new?
(2008/01/02) So long since the last update. Brian's worked for quite awhile assisting with the English Wikipedia and has been an administrator, for quite some time. His user name is Catbar, of course.
The Brain Candy articles are up-to-date, but everything else is dated. The plan is to bring most or all of the pages up to XHTML Strict compliance, pare dead links, and get rid of outdated info. This will take awhile. Priority will go to the Ohio wine page, which is significantly in need of an update.
Content is the priority - pretty will come later.
Thanks for viewing!
(2005/07/07) Brain Candy #96 readers, click here for an example Ohio winery map (in development)
Click here to see the datafile used to build the map above.
Red means we've been there and marked it with the GPS, brown means I've estimated its position, and green means it isn't a winery, but is a location of interest.
(2003/12/09) Moved Introduction to Chemometrics to this site. There are quite a few links to the Compuserve page - hopefully, they'll find their way here.
Fancy_search.htm now works, too.
(2003/11/14) I've put off adding this note. Klaatu died on April 5 of heart failure. He had a known heart problem, and I guess it just caught up with him, although both the vet and we thought he was doing well. We've been a three Mau household for over six months and it still doesn't seem right.
I'm adding Brain Candy columns again, at bccentrl.htm.
(2002/08/26) Klaatu gets published again! This time it's Cat Fancy. His picture is on page 25 of the September, 2002 issue - the featured breed is, of course, the Egyptian Mau! This brings his known tally to two books and the cat magazine. See a nice picture of him here.
(2002/07/11) Moved the Ohio Wines page
(2002/07/10) Copying CATBAR II content to new mainpage The BigHouse page and the oh-so-appropriate Oscar Wilde quote shown above are now part of the CATBAR mainpage.
(2002/07/03) Moved more pages - Brain Candy this time.
(2002/01/19) Here's what the first published CATBAR homepage looked like, over six years ago! The pictures work now.
(2001/10/11) Sigh! Contentville folded in late September. The next link is now dead. Fame is sooo fleeting!
(2001/09/14) For at least several months, you've been able to buy Brian's, or most anybody else's fairly recent disseration on-line, at Contentville, His is titled "Development of An Optical Emission Model for the Determination of Sputtering Rates in Ion Thruster Propulsion Systems". He doesn't make any money on these sales; get one for your bird cage!
(2001/09/09) Added a link to search the Atomz index for the CATBAR Home Page
(2001/4/18) Phase 1 update of the Ohio wines page, added Beaker Street to Brian's links, tweaked the Shrine and the main page. Started taking out the orphan Google links.
Catbar Two is on-line. Not much there yet, but there will be.
Updated Albion Argent's, aka Killer's, Egyptian Mau page to reflect his latest kills (2 bats, in a county that has bat rabies, sigh!)
Link refresh in some sections. Major purging, with many additions to Brian's Favorite Links, check out the new Voynich links in the "Relics, Curios and Mayhem" section!
Brain Candy is up to 53 issues (as of 1/2002) including the famous and infamous "A Rabid Baseball Fan" column.

Here are pages for each of our four Egyptian Mau cats, with a bit of data for each.
Don't miss this stuff; this is the best part!

Brian probably wouldn't do a personal web page if it weren't for Emacs - XEmacs in particular.
What's playing on the MediaMonkey jukebox? Moose the Mooche - The Dirty Dozen Brass Band
On Deck: Mary Jane's Last Dance - Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Themesong for the page: Time Out for Fun - Devo (a local band of some renown)
