No Feeding The Animals Please

Our pets keep us as busy as our kids do. We actually have a zoo at our house. The kids enjoy our animals as much as we do! Yes... even animals deserve their place on the web, and this is their place! Read on to learn more about our menagerie!

About our Zoo

The Canine Corner

Chester represents the canine faction of our group. He is still just a pup at the ripe old age of one year. He is part Brittany Spaniel and part Basset Hound. He is a wonderful pet and a part of our family. He is great with the kids and loves to run and play .

The Feline Faction

Satch was the cat of the house. He was one old dude at 17 years of age! He prowled and hunted till the day he died! We will all mis Satch and will never forget him. Even poor chester seems a little lonely now that he has no one to bug. We may get another cat some day, but for now, the rest of the animals are keeping us busy enough, so we will hold off for the time being.

The Rodent Rut

Isabelle (Izzy for short) is our member of the rodent family. She is a long-hair guinea pig. She is about a year and a half old. She enjoys being played with by the kids (when they are not flying her around the living room that is! ) and has a special attachment to Chester.

Whiskers & Sam are George's latest rodent additions to our zoo. They are hamsters and live in one of those habitrail thingies. They have all the latest modern conveniences, including a penthouse suite and an exercise wheel. George has fun taking them out of their cages and playing with them. Now, time will tell to see if we indeed purchased two males...

The Aviary

Sunny and Joey are our two Cockatiels. Sunny is white and Joey is grey. They have been with us a long time and provide plenty of chirping music (especially when we are on the phone! ) They don't talk or even come out of their cage, but add to our list of captured and domesticated beasts.
Tweety is Richard's parakeet. Tweety is just a baby and a new addition to our house. Richard is working on training her and she is coming along just fine. She comes out of her cage every day and seems perfectly comfortable just sitting on Rich's shoulder as he meanders about his room. (Chester appears very curious about Tweety and I believe that he thinks she is a play-toy... Thus, Tweety only comes out while in Rich's room with the door closed!)
Christopher, not to be outdone by his brothers, followed suit and got his own bird. Pete is also a parakeet like Tweety. Chirs is taking lessons from Richard and beginning to train Pete. Although Tweety and Pete are in different rooms, they sing to eachother and provide even more background noise at our zoo.

The Fish Pond

We have a number of tanks set up at our house. In the living room we have the standard fresh water set-up with the basic tropical fish . We also have a tank set up in the family room which contains aquatic frogs. George has a small tank which contains his Siamese Betta. Rich followed suit and has a traditional goldfish bowl with some cool little guys swimming around. Christopher also has his own small tank with yet another Siamese Betta.

Whew! We sure have some group here, huh? Well, that is about it for our zoo tour. NO, the pets don't get their own list of favorite links! (except for Chester perhaps... Sausage links for him!) Browse around the rest of our site and see what you can find. Hope you enjoyed the Petting Zoo and will visit again! Who knows what new additions you may find next time!
