this
page for a little additional info about us.
We
here at Carlou are very selective with the breeding
stock
we have chosen. We have worked very hard to
combine
the best of health, as well as conformation in
our
foundation stock. We take such great pride in looking
at
all the facets of each line and each puppy. Working
with
other caring breeders in the Shar Pei world,
we
are doing what we can to eliminate Amyloid and Cancer
in
this breed. Stressing to all that careless breeding is
what
keeps these QUICK killers out there.
We
take part in AKC's DNA program, which requires
males
(and eventually females) to be DNA'd. This
prevents
careless breeding and assures proper lineage of
puppies.
Microchipping as a form of identification is also
required
by AKC, and we do offer this to our puppies before
they
leave.
Our
puppies are sold as pet only, but we do consider selling
with
full registration to select people only. To keep our
puppies
out of puppy mills, brokers' hands, we are quite
finicky
about this. There are simply too many breeders
out
there that are wanting to make a quick "buck'.
We
welcome you here any time, if you would like to
meet
our Pei. Some of our Pei are our house companions,
and
some reside in our heated/air conditioned kennels.
Our
dogs are always treated as family, and are given
appropriate
amounts of excercise, sunlight, socialization
and
are on a well balanced diet.
We

not
have mass amounts of puppies per year, only a
few
litters. However, we would like to help you by
maybe
referring you to a quality breeder. Always
keep
in mind that there are many Shar Pei in rescue,
that
need loving homes too, as well as another chance.
I
personally have many years of rescue under my
belt,
and have seen firsthand what careless breeding
can
cause. A puppy purchase should never be on a whim,
and
should be thought out as well as possible.
