These are both open pollinated seedlings of R. acicularis Nipponensis (the 14 chromosome version of R. acicularis). I have many other open pollinated seedlings of R. acicularis Nipponensis that are very similar to the rose pictured on the right. The one on the left is different from all the others; I do not know if the change is because this one is a chance hybrid or if it is a doubled chromosome version.
