Saracens
Although I like the Italieri Saracen set, it does not have a lot of infantry.
So I bought a couple boxes of ESCI Muslims cheap and converted a number
of them. I also wanted a bit more variety so I converted a few Italieri
footmen to horsemen.
This first image is of a converted Saracen with a Zvedza Mongol, suitable
as a LH general or just another LH in the hordes:
This next one shows some ESCI Muslims converted into levy spears.
They originally had rifles, which I cut off. Their hands were drilled
to hold wire spears and card shields were glued on top to help hide the join.
The commander is standard Italieri Sracen in armor and the flag bearer
is an unmodified ESCI -- his pistol painted to resemble a dagger.
Some Arab lists have warbands as well. Although the ESCI set has some
suitable figures with sword and shield (last on right, front row below) I
wanted more and added shields to the swordsmen below:
