Lessons From The Parable Of The Sower
Luke 8:5-18
One of the more often discussed parables of Jesus, is the parable
of
the Sower. Matthew (chapter 13), Mark (chapter 4) and Luke
(chapter 8)
record this parable. It is a powerful lesson in that it provides
for us
an understanding of what God expects of his people and of what we
can
expect from our God.
Consider some of the following things from this Parable.
1. God Provides The Seed, We Provide The Sowing. (Luke 8:11)
2. God Expects Us To Go Out - Take His Will To Others. (Luke 8:5)
3. The Power of Growth Is In The Word. (Luke 8:15)
4. God Knows Not Everyone Will Obey. (Luke 8:12,13,14)
5. We Don't Know Who Will Obey: Must Sew Everywhere. (Luke 8:5-8)
6. Men Must Choose What They Will Do.
7. Neglect of the Seed makes it useless. (Luke 8:13)
8. Quick growth is no guarantee of Fruitfulness. (Luke 8:13)
9. The World and the Seed Do Not Mix. (Luke 8:14)
10. Those Who Obey Have Opportunity To Increase. (Luke 8:15)
11. Increases Only Come Through Work and Patience. (Luke 8:15)
12. We can often do far more than we think. (Luke 8:8)
God has made a way available for all His people to not only grow
and
mature, but to share that experience with others through the
process
and sowing His seed. We live best, when we share with others the
blessings of God. [JW]
