In The Beginning.
It is the answer to all of life's questions: "In the
beginning..." (Genesis
1:1). The first words of the first chapter of the first book of
the Bible
tell us all that we need to know: "In the
beginning...".
When did the universe have it's start? "In the
beginning..." How did the
universe have it's start? "In the beginning God created the
heavens and the
earth." (Genesis 1:1) Where did the sun come from? "And
God made two great
lights; the greater light to rule the day ..." (Genesis
1:16). Where did all
the animals come from? "And God made the beast of the earth
after his kind
..." (Genesis 1:25). You mean to say that things didn't just
happen? That
animals didn't just evolve from lower life forms? What about man:
where did
he come from? "And God said, let us make man in our image,
after our likeness
..." (Genesis 1:26) You mean to say that man did not evolve
from apes or
alligators or deer? And when did this all happen? "In the
beginning ..."
God also shows us how much he loved man in the beginning, by
placing him in a
special garden (Genesis 2:8). He also shows us how sin came into
the world:
by man's transgression of God's will, back in the beginning.
(Genesis 2:17;
3:6)
We also learn that God first revealeded the plan for man's
redemption, back
in the beginning: "And I will put enmity between thee and
the woman, and
between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou
shalt
bruise his heel." (Genesis 3:15)
Whether of God's Love, Man's Sin, Marriage (Matthew 19:4) or
Redemption, God
had it taken care of a long, long time ago. Yes, long before the
first
dinosaur roamed the earth or the first fish swam in the ocean,
God had all
things taken care of for us, back "In the beginning..."
