WHAT I DO FOR HIM

Jesus told his disciples that helping the faithful is like helping him. He
put it this way in Matthew 25:40, "... Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye
have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto
me." The beauty of our fellowship is that we not only have an individual
relationship with our Master, but we share a greater relationship with others
who are faithful to Him. Our love for him causes us to love the faithful.

Dorcas was such a one who had love for the disciples. Her story is told in
Acts 9:36-42. She was a woman who "... was full of good works and almsdeeds
which she did." (Acts 9:36) She died, causing much grief to the faithful. As
Peter came to visit, the brethren were weeping and shewing him all the works
that she had done for her brethren, by making them coats and garments. Moved
by her story, Peter knelt down and by the power of the Holy Spirit, he
touched her and she was resurrected! (Acts 9:39,40)

She was not an Apostle like Peter, or a preacher like Timothy, but her affect
upon the brethren was just as great. Daily she had an impact upon the lives
of the faithful, just by living a loving a faithful life.

You may never experience the joy of preaching a gospel lesson to an audience.
You may never visit a foreign land and help in converting the lost. You may
never be perceived as a teacher of men and women. But if you will live a
faithful life, and in loving service to your master, if you will help your
brethren, then you will be just as important, and the affect will be just as
great. For "... Inasmuch as ye had done it unto one of the least of these my
brethren, ye have done it unto me." [JW]

"And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted,
and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the
kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 18:3)
