Being Lost
There is no greater feeling of dread than when we realize
we are lost. It may be that we are traveling on the road
and we have taken the wrong turn. I remember one time
we were traveling in up-state New York. It was after
mid-night and we came upon a detour. We drove on for
what seemed like another 2 hours only to find out that
the route for the detour should have only taken us a
couple of streets away from the main route! We were
tens of miles gone out of the way and lost. We ended
up in some sleepy little town and it took us another
couple of hours to get back on the right road.
Our spiritual lives are of more significance than
driving on the road. But just like getting lost when
one is driving, the only way to get back to the right
way is to ask directions and then follow them.
God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to this world to give
us the "directions" that will lead us to heaven. Jesus
said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man
cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6) We
cannot go our own way and get to heaven. We cannot go
the way that others suggest and get to heaven. We can
only go in the direction that Jesus gives us if we
expect to get there. His way is direct: there are no
detours and no dead ends. If you follow His way, and
keep with it, it will lead you right to the Father.
The only way then that someone can be forever lost,
is if they ignore the directions or refuse to follow
them. In the end, they will answer to Jesus for why
they did not follow his directions. You can keep from
being eternally lost, by obeying the commands of
Jesus before it is too late. [JW]

of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen
from Grace." (Galatians 5:4)
