The Bible Defines Baal Worship

The Bible appears to be vague about the specifics of Baal worship i.e., who is Baal, what are the doctrines of Baal worship and who is a Baal priest. If you read all the verses mentioning Baal including those verses just before and after you will find that God has told us all we need to know to answer the questions, "Am I a Baal worshiper?", "Is my pastor a Baal priest?" Is My church a Baal church?" Here are some Bible verses containing the word 'Baal' that answer these questions.

1 Kings 18

(17) And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said unto him, Art thou he that troubleth Israel?

(18) And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but thou, and thy father's house,

Comment: You can say "" or in reverse . Reversing the last sentence in verse 18 reveals a definition of Baal worship.

Compare

John ran home Home ran John
In that ye have forsaken the commandments of the Lord, and thou hast followed Baalim. "Thou hast followed Baalim in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the Lord.

The King asked the question, "Art thou he that troubled Israel?" The Baal government looks upon true Christians as troublemakers.

Jeroboam was confronted by a 'troublemaker" - click here.

True Christians are 'troublemakers' because they want to keep God's laws rather that contrary laws enacted by the King.

2 Kings 17

(13) Yet the Lord testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, Turn ye from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.

(14) Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the Lord their God.

(15) And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the Lord had charged them, that they should not do like them.

Comment: Likewise let's reverse the order of the last verse, verse 16,

(16) And they left all the commandments of the Lord their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made a grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal. (16) "and made them molten images, even two calves, and made a grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal when they left all the commandments of the Lord their God.

Speculation: A grove, whatever it is, is very unclear. Some believe that it was a wooded area. But perhaps it was a place of entertainment like a dinner theater or a movie house. The Humanist religious doctrine is disguised as entertainment and is taught via movies, plays and TV. situation comedies.

The play South Pacific teaches race mixing. Can-Can teaches 'if it feels good, do it'. Perhaps we have the largest grove in all history. It is proudly announced to all the world by a sign high on a hill. This grove is called Hollywood. (Holy-wood or 'the holy grove').

It is very clear from 2 Kings 17:16 that Baal worship is "And (they) served Baal (when) they left all the commandments of the Lord their God."

God also complained that "(they) went after the heathen that were round about them." (And did like them.)

Here we have the Eastern philosophies that are gaining popularity today: The New Age movement. Yoga, Transcendental meditation, Situation Ethics, and Death Education. In industry we are now being taught the Japanese way of life in the workplace. God expects his people to instruct the heathen, not the reverse where the heathen instruct us.

When you do away with God's standard something else must take its place. God describes it this way, "they followed vanity, and became vain."

In 2 Kings 13 God started out with 'Turn ye from your evil ways, (repent) and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers."

There are some definitions and conclusions here.

(1) If you do not live by "my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers" then your ways, however good they seem in your eyes, are evil ways in God's eyes.

(2) Repentance is starting to live according to "my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers"

(3) From 2 Kings 17:15 Believing on God is the acceptance His Law as the standard of conduct individually and nationally.

2 Chronicles 17

(3) And the Lord was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and sought not unto Baalim;

(4) But sought to the Lord God of his father, and walked in His commandments, and not after the doings of Israel.

Comment: Jehoshaphat was the King of Judah. "the doings of Israel" had to do with the laws of the Kings of the northern kingdom of Israel.

Micah 6

16  For the statutes of (King) Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of (King) Ahab, and ye walk in their counsels; that I should make thee a desolation, and the inhabitants thereof an hissing: therefore ye shall bear the reproach of my people.

Here in America a legislative 'work' is called an 'act'. Our Congress is called the 'House" and Senate. In modern terms Micah 6:16 would read,

"For the statutes (executive orders) of (the President) are kept, and all the acts of the house of Representatives, and ye walk in their counsels;" (Contrary to God's law.)

God called Kings Omri and Ahab wicked because they wrote their own laws which were contrary to God's laws.. In America we have books full of statutes which are the works of the House of Representatives

David kept God's commandments. This is called "the first ways of his father David". So the conclusion is that "(Seeking) not unto Baalim" is "(walking) in (God's) commandments''.

Jeremiah 7

(1) The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying,

(2) Stand in the gate of the Lord's house, and proclaim there this word, and say, Hear the word of the Lord, all ye of Judah, that enter in at these gates to worship the Lord.

(3) Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, (repent) and I will cause you to dwell in this place.

(4) Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of the Lord, The temple of the Lord, The temple of the Lord, are these.

(5) For if ye throughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye throughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbor;

(6) If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, (10th commandment) and shed not innocent blood (6th commandment) in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt: (1st commandment)

(7) Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever.

(8) Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit.

(9) Will ye steal, (8th commandment) murder, (6th commandment) and commit adultery, (7th commandment) and swear falsely, (9th commandment) and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not;

(10) And come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, (3rd commandment - to profane God's name by saying) We are delivered to do all these abominations? (The Law is done away in Jesus)

(11) Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith the Lord.

Jeremiah 23

(30) Therefore, behold, I {am} against the prophets, saith the Lord, that steal my words every one from his neighbor.

(31) Behold, I {am} against the prophets, saith the Lord, that use their tongues, and say, He saith.

(32) Behold, I {am} against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the Lord, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the Lord.

Comment: Jeremiah went to the church door and said, "Hear the word of the Lord". Would not that imply that "the word of the Lord was not inside that particular church?

Perhaps "Yes" because in verse four Jeremiah says concerning the words from the pulpit, 'Trust ye not in lying words."

2 Kings 17

(15) And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the Lord had charged them, that they should not do like them.

In verse three Jeremiah called for repentance. The people who heard Jeremiah were the church-goers! It is probably correct to say that these church-goers sincerely believed that they were good and righteous people. They trusted and respected the man in the pulpit.

The Pastor probably called the police to complain about a 'trouble-maker' trespassing on church grounds.

The congregation and the minister believed that they were "Christian'' as evidenced in verse ten where God says "And come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name." But God says, that it was a church where people prayed to Baal. (burn incense in verse nine is symbolic for "pray".)

What was Jeremiah's complaint? What did Jeremiah want the people to repent of? To find out simply examine the verses, Jeremiah lists violations of eight of the ten commandments.

The people, being good church going Christians respond with, Why Jeremiah, haven't you heard? "The Law is done away in Jesus". But God says, "He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer (the burning of incense) shall be abomination." Proverbs 28:9

Jeremiah 9

(13) And the Lord saith, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked therein;

(14) But have walked after the imagination of their own heart, and after Baalim, which their fathers taught them:

Comment: Once again reverse the order of the thoughts in the verse and the meaning shows through clearly.

"Walking after the imagination of (your) own heart, and after Baalim" results from" (Forsaking) my law which I set before them".

If you reject God's Law or if you do not know God's Law then you are on your own. You do what is right in your own eyes ("Walking after the imagination of (your) own heart") or you listen to some one else.

Donahue, Rivera, Ann Landers, Dr. Ruth, TV. Situation Comedies even the Legislature, (after Baalim).

More often than not, this some one else will be either a heathen or a non-Christian. While the vast majority of Americans claim to be Christian, it is very difficult to find a Christian radio talk show host.

It is almost impossible to find a TV station or large newspaper owned or controlled by a Christian.

Christians do not control Hollywood or make our movies. This is called "went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the Lord had charged them, that they should not do like them."

It is an either or situation. You either follow God's law or you follow some other law. Following any law other than God's law is Baal worship. You don't have to go to church to be a Baal worshiper.

In Jeremiah 9:14, who does God blame for this situation?

Jeremiah 9

(13) And the Lord saith, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked therein;

(14) But have walked after the imagination of their own heart, and after Baalim, which their fathers taught them:

How do "their fathers teach them?" Perhaps in the public schools. In today's world we 'fathers' teach our children by sending them to the Public Schools. And what, in the wisdom of the courts and legislature, do we forbid in the government schools?

(1) Prayer and (2) Bible reading. (3) Creation.

But we do not forbid and in fact mandate, evolution, 'sex education', eastern mysticism, humanism, situation ethics so on and so forth.

We Christians pay taxes to have our children taught Baal worship in the public schools!

The Features Of A Baal Religion/Government

Ye worship ye know not what. John 4:22

There are three fundamental principles:

(1) He who makes the nations laws is that nation's god.

(2) If the nation is not governed by God's Law, then the nation is governed by some one else's law.

(3) If a government writes its own law, then in the Baal system, the state is god.

In the Bible we find an unseen God choosing his representative. Examples are Moses, Aaron and King David. The people choose their representatives according to Exodus 18.

In the Baal system candidates for public office are put forth by political parties and chosen by the vote of the masses. The vote is easily influenced by the media. The media is owned and controlled by non-Christians. (Physical or spiritual Heathens)

Just as the unseen God chose Moses, Saul and David, the unseen 'they' choose our candidates. We select one of their choices. And we think that it is our choice.

The Baal of the Baal religion can not be precisely defined because it changes from government to government and from year to year.

The definition of Baal presented earlier said, "The word Baal is not the name of one god but the name of the presiding deity or deities in any given locality, 'the lords' of that locality.

The 'Baal' of any given area is 'the State'. His 'Moses' is the King or President.

1. The King: The king or president "sits in Moses' seat" administrating the law as ruler over the people. The leader believes that he worships 'the Lord'. He understands in his mind that 'The Lord' is the God of the Bible.

Today our President takes his oath of office on the Bible and believes that he is a Christian or at least a religious person as he replaces the government of God with the government of man.

Past Presidents called themselves Christian. They prayed with the Rev. Billy Graham. President Jimmy Carter called himself a 'born again' Christian.

Reagan proclaimed 1983 "the Year of The Bible." President Bush declared 1990 as the "International Year Of Bible Reading while the government he heads forbids Bible reading in the government schools.

The Supreme Court he appointed forbids public prayer in schools. And he sincerely thinks that he is serving The Lord. (But his executive orders are not based upon God's Laws, Statutes and Judgments.)

Our Presidents sincerely believe that they 'love the Lord'. They would take insult to be told that they administer the government of Baal.

2. The Doctrine: The doctrines of God are set and do not change from age to age. They are found in the Bible. Legislation is based upon God's Laws, Statutes and Judgments with contrary legislation forbidden.

The doctrines of the Baal religion can not be defined because they change from time to time. In the Baal system the Legislature defines right and wrong. This is because the legislature makes law and the Bible tells us "sin is the transgression of the law." (1 John 3:4.) The legislature does not spiritualize with terms such as mortal and venial sin, rather they use the terms  felony and misdemeanor.

Sinners against Baal are taken to the Court (temple) where they are placed before the Judge (priest) to make confession (plea). The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court is Baal's 'Aaron'.

Today the state's religious legislation is called 'public policy.' Examples of present day 'public policy' are in the areas of abortion, affirmative action, integration, prayer in school, alien immigration, gay rights, usury and intermarriage.

Since 'God is love', and 'love is the keeping of the commandments' anyone violating these public policies is a 'hater'.

Our Legislators open their sessions with prayer and sincerely believe that they are Christian, or at least religious as they replace God's Law with Man's Law, their morals (public policy) replace God's morals and they sincerely think they are serving The Lord. None would claim to be a Baal worshiper. Each and every one of them would be offended if you were to make such a charge.

3. The Churches: King Jeroboam established the churches and licensed a clergy that would support him.

In the modern version The Lord's churches incorporate as non-profit 501-C3 corporations and enjoy tax exempt status.

The men who become clergy see nothing wrong with the present system. Therefore The Lord's churches support the government's authority via their interpretation of Romans 13.

Most churches agree with present day 'public policy' about abortion, affirmative action, integration, prayer in school, alien immigration, gay rights, usury and intermarriage.

The Lord's churches rarely disagree with the legislature's standard of right and wrong. If there is a disagreement they do not speak out in public unless first asking permission via registration as Political Action Committees.

For the most part, The Lord's churches do not get involved in the legislative process or preach against public policy. It is often said, "Politics is dirty", "Separation of Church and State", "Christians should stay out of politics" (300,000 Silent Churches.)

The Churches of Baal can not be defined because they change from time to time and place to place. They are never named after or called by the name 'Baal'. There can be over 250 varieties, something to please everyone.

Individual doctrines may agree or disagree with the Bible's teaching. The churches sincerely believe that they serve The Lord and sincerely believe that they are not Baal churches. None are listed in the phone directory under Churches of Baal.

God's churches are few but they can be found. They are the only ones that teach obedience to God's Laws, Statutes and judgments which were delivered to Moses. Baal churches always teach some form of the doctrine 'the law is done away in Jesus'.

4. The Clergy: Jeroboam set up his own clergy and licensed them. The Lord's preachers believe that they are God's ministers. A 'priest of Baal' can not be defined by what he believes or teaches because his doctrine changes from time to time and place to place. His doctrine may agree with or disagree with the Bible. His teaching will be reasonable and logical and be supported by quotations of scripture. He sincerely believes that he is not a Baal worshiper. Our Churches and clergy support this system deluding themselves with possibility thinking, seed faith, and expecting God to do something good for you all the while thinking that they are serving 'The Lord'. (But they do not teach God's Law, rather they say that it is 'done away').

Matthew 7

22-23, "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? (Yes) and in thy name have cast out devils? (Yes) and in thy name done many wonderful works? (Yes) And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

Iniquity is defined as 'lawlessness' meaning 'without law.' The Baal Churches are without God's Law when they teach any form of 'the law is done away in Jesus'. Therefore God says "they work iniquity".

The Schools: In America Christians founded the first schools. 106 of the first 108 were church schools. Historically, in the lands of Christendom, the schools have been run by the churches.

It is only recently that there has been change from church to public schools. For some time the 'public schools' were thought of as the Protestant school system. The Catholics and Jews set up their own private systems.

Earlier I speculated that 'the groves' were places of education via entertainment. I suggested that the word 'Hollywood" had the meaning 'Holy wood' even 'The Holly Grove'.

1 Kings 18

(17) And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said unto him, Art thou he that troubleth Israel?

18) And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but thou, and thy father's house, in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the Lord, and thou hast followed Baalim.

(19) Now therefore send, {and} gather to me all Israel unto mount Carmel, and the prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the groves four hundred, which eat at Jezebel's table.

(20) So Ahab sent unto all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together unto mount Carmel.

(21) And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord {be} God, follow him: but if Baal, {then} follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

(22) Then said Elijah unto the people, I, {even} I only, remain a prophet of the Lord; but Baal's prophets {are} four hundred and fifty men.

(23) Let them therefore give us two bullocks; and let them choose one bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay {it} on wood, and put no fire under: and I will dress the other bullock, and lay it on wood, and put no fire {under}:

(24) And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the Lord: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, it is well spoken.

Notice that there are 450 prophets of Baal and also 400 prophets of the groves. 850 persons total. Notice two things;

(1) The Prophets of the groves did not offer the sacrifice because the Bible says "Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty  men." (23) Let them (offer the sacrifice and pray to Baal)"

(2) The Prophets of the groves were government employees because the Bible says about them, "which eat at (Queen) Jezebel's table". If you work for General Motors then you "eat at General Motors table."

Now if you are a government employee and you are in the field of education then what are you? Well, if you are a licensed school teacher certified by the government to teach in a public school. Perhaps Elijah would call you "a prophet of the groves, which eat at Jezebel's table." And if you are a school teacher what do you teach? Elijah says "if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him".

Elijah says to the school teachers, "either teach the children to obey God or teach them to obey man," but don't teach the children the ways of man and call it the way of God.

In today's world the answer is plain for all to see. The Ten Commandments can not be posted in the school building. Prayer is forbidden. The Bible is forbidden.

In January of 1990 President Bush issued a proclamation declaring "1990 The International Year of Bible Reading".' In this presidential proclamation President Lincoln is quoted saying, "the Bible reveals the infinite goodness of our Creator". The same government that calls God 'Creator' forbids the teaching of Creation and mandates Evolution.

The People: The public believes The Lord's ministers are men of God. The people 'love the Lord', go to church, (at least at Easter and Christmas) and call themselves Christians. They sincerely believe they are doing God's will and that their minister preaches 'the Gospel truth'.

The churches, news media and others support 'public policy' which is ever changing. People generally believe that 'public policy' is the correct moral position and that a contrary view is wicked and evil. The contrary view is almost always presented in a bad light by the trusted (non-Christian) establishment television, newspapers, movies, etc..

Holders of the contrary view are vilified and given titles such as 'bigot', 'prejudiced', 'old fashioned', 'racist', and, 'hater'. They are called 'haters' simply because 'public policy' defines 'love'.

For example, present public policy calls for integration. If you do not integrate with other races (love) then you are a 'hater'.

They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. John 16:2

A few decades ago public policy called for segregation. At that time segregation was 'love'. Integration with other races was 'hate'. Flip/flop. Today public policy calls for integration. Now integration is 'love'. Segregation from other races is 'hate'. The Baal religion is a religion of 'love'. God is love.

The only thing that can be defined about the beliefs of the public in the Baal religion is this; they all believe that "everyone is good in the sight of the Lord and he delighteth in them". (Come to Jesus just as you are and God loves everyone. God loves the sinner but hates the sin.)

Ye have wearied the Lord with your words. Yet ye say, Wherein have we wearied him? When ye say,  or, Where is the God of judgment? Malachi 2:17

But God says, And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? Luke 6:46

Compare

Every one that doeth evil is good in the sight of the Lord, and he delighteth in them; Come to Jesus just as you are. God loves everyone. God loves the sinner but hates the sin.

Our people accept the system, the licensed clergy and the incorporated churches as The Lord's servants. Although sin and immorality if rampant in our nation, the individual church going people do not see that they are laden with sin while they think that they are serving The Lord. (And most of then can not list the ten commandments. And if they can list them, they have no understanding of the statutes and judgments based upon them.)

And what does the word Baal mean, well simply 'The Lord". So when the people 'serve Baal', they serve man in the name of God.

That is the Baal religion. Serving man while thinking that you are serving God. Obeying man's law when you think that you are serving God's Law. Here is a non-spiritualized definition of Baal. The same definition as presented before.

Definition: - Baal

The word Baal as it appears in scripture has a variety of meanings. Originally, it was not a proper noun but eventually it came to be used as such. In its preliminary sense it means master or owner, 'The Lord'. But most often it is used in scripture to refer to a deity or deities (Magistrates and civil rulers). The word Baal is not the name of one god but the name of the presiding civil ruler or rulers in any given locality, 'the lords' of that locality.

When the historian Josephus described the setting up of the golden calf by Jeroboam he wrote this, "When Jeroboam had said this, he deluded the people, and make them to revolt from the worship of their forefathers, and to transgress their laws. This was the beginning of miseries to the Hebrews, and the cause why they were overcome in war by foreigners, and so fell into captivity.

The Baal religion is summarized in "he deluded the people". The Baal religion is a religion of delusion. We replace the government of God with the government of man and think that we are serving 'The Lord'. We replace the moral standards of God with 'public policy' and think that we are serving 'The Lord'.

At the time of the Exodus 'they' were replacing the Government of God with the government of man.

At the rebellion of Koreh they were replacing the Government of God with the government of man.

King Jeroboam was replacing the government of God with the government of man.

The first happening in two of these situations was a public assurance that 'they loved The Lord'. Recall that immediately after announcing the new administration Aaron said, 'Tomorrow is a feast unto the Lord".

King Jeroboam said, "I have also made two

man and think that we are serving 'The Lord'.

Recall that immediately after announcing the new administration Aaron said, "Tomorrow is a feast unto the Lord".

King Jeroboam said, "1 have also made two golden heifers, dedicated to the same God; (as at Jerusalem) and one of them I have consecrated in the city Beheld, and the other in Dan, to the end that those of you that dwell nearest those cities, may go to them, and worship God there:"

Following the rebellion of Korah, and after God displayed his anger at Korah's campaign committee, the deluded people complained that Moses slew 'the Lord's anointed.

Baal worship is when we worship a man or worship men while sincerely thinking that we are worshipping God. It is the replacement of man's law with God's law. The State is God. The top man in government is 'Moses' the highest religious leader is 'Aaron'. The hidden control by the Bankers replaces the unseen God of the Bible. The medical doctors, social workers and clergy are 'Levites'. The nations temples are the court houses and bank buildings. The synagogues are the steepled churches bearing Christian names wherein people worship 'The Lord.'

"he deluded the people"

Baal worship is in America because the deluded people do not know what Baal worship is. They worship 'the lord' thinking he is 'The Lord.'

Baal worship is in America because the deluded leaders do not know what Baal worship is. They worship 'the lord' thinking that he is 'The Lord'.

Baal worship is in America because the deluded clergy do not know what Baal worship is. They do not know that they are Baal priests. They think that they are priests of THE LORD when they are actually priests of The Lord.

Hosea 2:16-17

"And it shall be at that day, saith the Lord, that thou shalt call me Ishi (husband); and shalt call me no more BaaIi (The Lord). For I will take away the names of Baalim out of her mouth, and they shall no more be remembered by their name."

What can you do?

1. Repent. "Amend your ways and doings:', Jeremiah 7:3. "Turn ye from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers ." 2 Kings 17:13

2. Read: Open your Bible to The Book of Deuteronomy. Read and study it.

3. Believe: Accept his law as the standard of conduct individually and nationally. "(14) Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the Lord their God. (15) And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them," 2 Kings 17:14-15.

4. Avoid heathen influence, "and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the Lord had charged them, that they should not do like them." 2 Kings 17:15
