ABOUT MY CLASSROOM

Welcome to my physics Web Page.  My name is Christine Milcetich and I am a physics teacher at Firestone High School.  Currently, I teach Advance Placement (AP) Physics and Physics.  I also serve as the Planetarium Director for the Akron Public Schools and give morning shows for the second, fifth and eighth graders.

Students in the science program may choose to take Physics or AP Physics in either junior or senior year.  The AP Physics, Physics, Regular Physics, and IB Physics cover similar topics which include mechanics, waves, thermodynamics, electricity and magnetism, and atomic and nuclear physics.  The difference between the courses is the depth of coverage of material, the mathematical sophistication required to solve problems and laboratory investigations.  Students take an active role in their learning and also learn through a hands-on / inquiry based approach.

This page is designed to keep the parents and the students informed of the events happening in my classroom.  It is also created to provide students with sites that will help them in their study of physics.
