| Central Park was not in the city's initial design concept. Construction of the park did not begin until 1857, with Frederick Law Olmsted appointed as Superintendent and chief park designer. |
I snapped this photo from across 'The Lake', looking south into upper Manhattan. We had just left Strawberry Fields, and was completing a long day of adventure within a majority of the park. |
