I really love your site. Your "eye" catches poetry in the landscape. I use lighthouses alot (yep, I tried). I do a Midnight Watch for a list that I belong to; with lighthouses, oceans, or tall masted ships and music. I will come back, Rod.....May GOD bless you in your going out and coming in.....Irish proverb. Agape, Breezy

Hello Rod, I think you may remember who I am, or at least who my sister is. Joan (Gillman) Gates. Joan graduated from RHS in 81 with you and I graduated in 83. My husband and I really enjoyed the photos in your gallery. We love lighthouses and have been to Pemaquid light in Maine several times. Your photos are breathtaking and you have really traveled great distances to capture all of them! Congrats, they're gorgeous!

You've done such a wonderful job with your website. I particularly enjoy the sound of the shutter clicking as it permiates the new page download. More importantly, you are clearly a talented photographer. Keep up the good work! It allows the rest of us camera-shy folks to enjoy the beauty we see, but can only imagine capturing on film. Thank you!

I was sent an e-card from Care Mail 2 by my sister, which featured one of your photos. I was sooooo surprised and elated to see Nauset Beach. My parents live two blocks away from the lighthouse and we grew up spending some of the summer there every year. Thanks for making my day... I wish I was there now---even in the cold it is one of the most beautiful places on earth. As my Dad say's "Cape Cod is a little bit of heaven on earth!" Love your site!

I am interested in Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse. I am supposed to have some family history linked to this and I am trying to research it. Can you help?

Sorry Melissa, below is the only link I know that has info on the web. You may try a few books to learn some more. There are a lot of Chesapeake Bay lighthouses related books available. Sorry I couldn't help more.

I love lighthouses and I really love Marblehead, they have turned it in to a State Park. We live about 50 miles from it and go up about 5 or 6 times a year to have a picnic. It attracts thousand every year. So if you are in Ohio be sure to stop in Marblehead, Ohio and see it...

Thank you so much for the lovely photographs of the lighthouses. My husband Bob and I have traveled to Michigan several times and visited most of these lighthouses. I have lived in the lower & upper-lower peninsula and then in Kingsford before moving to Wyoming 12 years ago. My husband is housebound now so we cannot travel, but I stumbled across your LIGHTHOUSES. Thanks, the photography is beautiful. Your Imagery on the pages is magnificent...Different. Thanks for the memories.

I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your photos. I am a psychotherapist and have a number of lighthouses decorating my office. For me, the lighthouse represents metaphorically what I believe therapy is all about. If the therapist can function just like a lighthouse, then people can orient themselves, can find their direction and continue on their course through their lives. I didn't find a place for it, but thought how great it would be to have several of your pictures as wallpaper for my computer desktop... just a thought.... Hey, thanks again for the wonderful pictures....I caused me to remember my visits to the eastern seaboard and all the beautiful ones we saw there.

I loved your lighthouse photo album. We just moved here to the desert from the San Francisco area, and up there we lived real close to the bay. The only thing we miss about the S.F. bay area are the lighthouses. Keep up the good work, and thank you for the pictures.
