I found your site through one of our link partners, and was impressed by your waterfall photos and nice presentation with the sound. I also like the fact that you provide a description, something that I feel is essential so you know where and what you're looking at.

Your photo site has really inspired me. I am also an amateur photographer who is fascinated by the detail of God's beautiful nature. I seem to be best at macro close-up shots of bugs, flowers, weeds, etc. I am also an mechanical designer. I know what it means to be very busy at times. What you have done obviously took a lot of learning and hard work.

My Great Grandfather was a lighthouse keeper having served as the 1st assistant keeper at Hog Island Shoal in Rhode Island in 1094 - then as the 2nd and 1st assistant in Montauk (years 1912 - 1916), then as the keeper at Cedar Island Lighthouse off Sag Harbor (1916 - 1934) and finally keeper at Long Beach Bar Light off East Marion (1934 - 1941) the last three off Long Island. I was just wondering if there were any data bases which lists various keepers. I know my Great Grandfathers father was also a lighthouse keeper but finding information on him as been frustrating

I grew up in Huron, OH and spent many a day on that pier and out at that lighthouse. I love the picture you have, especially with the great sun and the crashing waves on the old blocks. Thanks for the history of the light.

My wife and I were driving along highway 9 in Delaware back in March and we came across a lighthouse in the middle of nowhere in a national wildlife refuge. It looked much like the photo on your site, but we didn't see a house near it. Could you tell me what it is?
