The Stratford Point Lighthouse was built in 1881, and is the 2nd light to be erected on the site. The cast iron plates over brick lining is one of eight lighthouses built in the area of similar design. The only architectural adornments on the towers are the window details & hooded tops. The keepers quarters was also built in 1881, & fog signal building in 1911.

The tower was open to the public for climbing, and included a small parking area just inside the station property. The keeper was gracious opening the tower for us to climb, even though we arrived during dinner! The present occupants insist that the property is NOT open to the public now though, and the public should NOT attempt to enter the property.
