Del. Breakwater

Delaware Breakwater Harbor eventually became overcrowded with ships during most storms. A new "Harbor of Refuge" breakwater was built in 1892 to expand the harbor.
The Harbor of Refuge light was added in 1896, but damaged by a storm in 1920. The light was rebuilt in 1926 as a 66 ft. tall cast iron tower, and fitted with a 4th order Fresnel.
