Goat Island is a small 3.5 acre island located one mile offshore from Cape Porpoise's town wharf. The lightstation is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The station was used as a Secret Service security post during the Bush presidency, due to the island's proximity to George Bush's residence at Walkers Point in Kennebunkport.
