Marshall Point Lighthouse was built in 1858, and is the second tower to be built at the location. The 31 ft tall light resembles the towers from Maine's Isle Au Haut & Ram Island Lights. The present day colonial styled keeper's house was built in 1895, after the original 1858 home was damaged from lightning strikes and resulting fire in 1894. The 5th order Fresnel lens was electrified in 1935, and replaced in 1980 with a modern plastic lens.

In 1898, the station became one of the first to be connected by phone to a local weather station, allowing the keeper to display warning flags on a special tower. The station was boarded up in 1980, and nearly auctioned off for construction of a resort hotel. The town of St. George secured a lease on the property, and turned it over to the historical society for complete restoration. The station is now listed on the National Register.
