Gloucester Breakwater Light is perched at the end of a 1/2 mile breakwater. It extends from the tip of Eastern Point's Coast Guard station, marking the entry to the Harbor.
The granite breakwater and light were built over an eight year period, from 1894-1904, and cost $300,000. The occulting red beacon rests on top of the 37 ft tall structure.
