Lifesaving Stations are not actually lighthouses, but their importance to the maritime industry are on equal footing to the lights. Many incredible stories of bravery and selfishness have been told of the men who risked their lives in powerful storms to save the sailors in distress. I have included photos of the few stations I have shot into the 'Lighthouse Gallery' section of my site.

Nauset Lifesaving Station #39 was constructed in 1872 to be "south one and one fourth miles of Nauset Beach Light", and was one of the original nine stations built on the cape that year. The structure was moved 1000 feet inland early in it's life, due to the shifting shoreline and erosion of the sandy banks. The station was abandoned in 1948, but was repaired and improved in 1988.
