East Chop

The 1st light built at Nobska, in 1829, was a stone cottage with a beacon on it's roof. It was later rebuilt in 1849. The present tower, keeper's quarters, and oil house were built in 1876.
A garage & radiobeacon building were added in the 1930's. The original 4th order Fresnel lens is still active, but automated in 1985. A covered walkway from 1899 has been removed.
