North to previous  Barnegat		South to next light  N. Wildwood LSS
Absecon Light was built in 1856. The 169 ft tall brick tower is the 3rd tallest in the US. The lantern still features the original L. Saudder 1st Order Fresnel lens.		The light has been abandoned & decaying since 1933, but recent preservation associations have received around 2.5 million dollars for it's complete restoration.
