Hereford Inlet

The station was built in 1849 to serve the maritime traffic through the Hereford Inlet, linking the ocean to the intracoastal waterway. The small village was then known as Angelsea.
The station was moved in 1881 to save it from the eroding shoreline. In 1888, a larger and more desirable site was acquired across the street, next to the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse.
