| Thirty Mile Point Light is located 30 miles east of the Niagara River mouth, hence it's name. The station was built in 1875 to mark a treacherous sandbar located offshore. |
By 1958, the sandbar had eroded away, so the beacon was taken out of service. The light is the centerpiece of Golden Hill State Park today and has been fully refurbished. |
