Sturgeon Point Light was built in 1924 by a local developer to mark the entance of an exclusive subdivision near Sturgeon Point, on the shore of Lake Erie. The light was subsequently moved a few miles inland (on an unknown date) to the entrance of the Sturgeon Point Water Treatment Plant.

The light is still in excellent shape, although the wooden sign is in disrepair. It is a shame that such a nice looking stone tower could not be placed at a more predominant location. The water treatment plant is located along a lightly traveled road with alot of trees, and is a little out of the way.
