The Inland Seas Maritime Museum is located in Vermilion, Ohio, along the Lake Erie shore. It is one of the finest maritime museums
I have ever been too, and is also one of the oldest & largest on the Great Lakes. The museum includes a very large library
highlighting maritime related books and references, 2 Fresnel lenses, a pilot house from a Great Lake ore ship,
the full size reproduction Vermilion Lighthouse, displays highlighting the Edmund Fitzgerald, and a VERY large collection
of boat models of Great Lakes freighters.
An unofficial library of numerous Coast Guard related stories, articles, poems, essays, and downright lies. Home of
the "Old Salt's Journal", the national newsletter of the Coast Guard Sea Veterans of America. The site also includes
links to other Coast Guard, lighthouse, and military related sites. Why read a boring book! |
