Lighthouse Related Info & Links
HarbourLights.com
The official home page of the best lighthouse sculptures on the market! The site includes detailed photos, history, and release/ retirement dates of every HL sculpture made. Other parts of the site include a weekly chat room, Bill Younger signing events schedule, a Harbour Light's dealers list with maps & phone numbers, as well as many, many other features. The "Gallery" section of the site highlights lighthouse photographs taken by various HL collectors (including 17 of my own). A Very comprehensive website!
Internet Index of Lighthouse Links
John Chidester, webmaster of HarbourLights.com, has added a wonderful new section to the Harbour Lights site. John has been gradually compiling links to many lighthouse related sites, and organizing them by region, state, individual lighthouse pages, organizations, museums, etc. Rod's Photo Gallery is honored to be chosen as one of the lighthouse related sites to be fully indexed on his list. The list is a wonderful tool for those searching for lighthouse related web sites, or specific information on an individual light.
Lighthouse & Maritime Art by Leo Kuschel
Leo Kuschel is a renown Great Lakes marine artist. Mr. Kuschel's paintings and prints reflects his admiration for the Great Lakes, lighthouses, freighters and maritime history. I love lighthouse related art, and Kuschel's is some of the finest around. A Kuschel print is a sign of artistic integrity and a statement of historic accuracy for each subject. All available prints are hand signed and numbered. Definately worth a look.
New England Lighthouses: A Virtual Guide
One of my favorite lighthouse related websites! Informative bibliographies, histories, maps, photographs, & travel related information on the New England lighthouses from all five states. I have used this site many times planning out my various New England vacations of the past. A very well produced and traveled site with numerous lighthouse related links. The site also offers an excellent CD-ROM of the 68 Maine lighthouses.
US Lighthouse Society: Chesapeake Chapter
The Chesapeake Chapter focuses on implementing the U.S. Lighthouse Society's goals in the Chesapeake Bay area, with particular regard to the lighthouses and lightships of Virginia & Maryland. Information about lighthouse restorations, museums, and special events are also included.

The Inland Seas Maritime Museum is located in Vermilion, Ohio, along the Lake Erie shore. It is one of the finest maritime museums I have ever been too, and is also one of the oldest & largest on the Great Lakes. The museum includes a very large library highlighting maritime related books and references, 2 Fresnel lenses, a pilot house from a Great Lake ore ship, the full size reproduction Vermilion Lighthouse, displays highlighting the Edmund Fitzgerald, and a VERY large collection of boat models of Great Lakes freighters.

W3C's HTML Specifications
For the Webmaster wanna-be, this is the HTML bible site. 95% of Rod's Photo Gallery was designed and uploaded without the use of an editing program (Microsoft FrontPage, etc). I wanted to learn more about HTML than most, and this is the site I used to teach myself the language. To most, it is about as boring of a read as a good calculus book, but this is where to learn how to lay out a web page without spending much money. Tables, backgrounds, fonts, meta tags, borders, headers, and other important HTML information is spelled out here.
RGB Color Chart
A good companion site to the W3C's HTML Specifications. This site organizes the hexadecimal and decimal color charts for webmasters to use. If you want to use more fonts, background, and header colors than the standard 16, this is a good site to start with. Another site with a well organized color scheme chooser is Hype's Color Specifier for Netscape.

Miscellaneous Info & Links
Michigan Reflections
What has really drawn me to this site was the stunning "java applet" designs (adding animated water or snowfall "reflections" to various photographs). If your computer is java enabled, you really have to check these out! The site also highlights travel information for visiting the state of Michigan, including Michigan lighthouses, the upper peninsula, RV & camping links, and others. Of course you can't skip Linda's pastry and desert recipes! Well worth the visit.
