Bald Head

Jockey's Ridge State Park is located on the Roanoke Sound side of Nags Head. The park includes the tallest sand dune on the east coast of the US. The 420+ acre dune varies from 90 to 110 feet in height.
The dune is gradually losing it's overall height, from a peak of 140 ft. tall at the turn of the century. The park is a popular hang glider's heaven, and all the children love rolling down the steep slopes.
