Moshup Beach is exposed to the open ocean on the southwest corner of the island. The cliffs are made of a red striated clay, with Gay Head Light perched high above (not in photo).
The beach is popular for the excellent surfing, with waves normally active. The cliffs are the island's #1 tourist attraction, but are also illegal to climb due to the erosion.
