Something magical happens when you hear beautiful music. It lifts your spirit, brightens your mood, and clears your soul. Music also helps us to heal.
Rita plays celtic, traditional, renaissance, and contemporary selections, as well as compositions of her own, on several stringed instruments: the Celtic harp, mandolin, hammered and mountain dulcimers. Each instrument has a unique sound and personality, offering a wide range of musical styles.
She is a mostly self taught multi–instrumentalist who is able to play lively, rollicking traditional music of a large folk group, renaissance music in a madrigal band, classical music with an ensemble, or gentle, elegant music of solo Celtic harp. Often arranging her own music, she's eager to share the joy of music with others – whether it's a fellow musician, private student, public audience, or patient.
Rita plays music for a variety of events including ladies garden parties, formal dinners, gallery openings, weddings, retreats, services, festivals, celebrations, and other special occasions. She often collaborates with other musicians and vocalists and can be seen performing solo, and with a band, folk clubs, and harp ensemble.
As a Certified Music Practitioner, Rita provides beautiful, soothing, therapeutic music for the healing benefit of patients to help relieve pain and anxiety during illness and end of life. See this page for more information about this unique and special ministry.
Be sure to check the schedule page for public performances where you can hear Rita and her friends play music for your listening pleasure.
