Membership Information
Membership in National Sojourners is open to citizens of the United States who are Master Masons in good standing in a
duly constituted Lodge of Master Masons recognized by and maintaining fraternal relations with a majority of the Regular
Grand Lodges in the United States and who are serving or have served honorably as;
1) a Commissioned Officer or Warrant Officer of the uniformed services of the United States,
2) a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer of the uniformed services of the United States,
(E5, 6 & 7 prior to 1958 - E7, 8 & 9
as of 1958),
3) have served in time of war as a Commissioned Officer or Warrant Officer or the equivalent in an armed service of a
nation allied with the United States,
4) or are regularly elected to Honorary Membership.

CHAPTER PERSONAL NOTE: It is not the intent of Sojourners Chapters to replace Masonic Lodges under any Grand Lodge
jurisdiction. They are created to allow a mobile Military to maintain a relationship with Masonic brethren while away
from their home lodge. The chapters do not attempt to confer the degrees in Masonry (there is no authority to do so)
and they encourage their members to attend lodge when possible. The initiations, opening and closing the chapter and
other activities have no connections to lodge ritual. Fellowship and Patriotism are the main themes. Members must
first be Master Masons before they can be admitted to the Sojourners Chapter. Memberships are confirmed before
acceptance. In the case of chapters with primarily inactive or retired military members, most are active Master Masons
in nearby lodges. Many are past masters of their respective lodges.
