I would like to welcome you to the brand new website for the Deutsche FamilienvereinAkron, or the German Family Society of Akron, OH (GFS).

This website and its related sites are dedicated to the preservation and continuation of our cultural heritage and traditions. The Donau Park in Brimfield, OH is a home away from home for many of its members, both past and present. A place where its members can meet and socialize.  A place where traditions and language from previous generations can be passed onto its’ young members.

The Danubeswabian people are hard working and also look forward to sharing good times with good friends. We hold events throughout the year that celebrate our heritage and continue traditions carried on for many years in the Rhine region of Europe.  We have dances about once a month that include live German bands playing various songs, both old and new, and performances by some of the groups.
