Transplant Recipients International Organization
Akron-Canton TRIO is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit support group for those who have received a transplant, their families and support people, those waiting for a transplant, health care professionals and donor families. We are a local chapter of Transplant Recipients International Organization. We have meetings once a month which meets the need of support. We meet the third Tuesday of each month, 6:30-8:30 at the North Canton Medical Foundation, 6046 Whipple Ave. NW, North Canton Ohio.
It is really helpful to talk to other recipients about what is going on in their life after a transplant. Each member brings issues to the meetings and gets a chance to talk. If you have questions bring them to our meeting, and if you have answers bring them also so you can help others. Support people, relatives and spouse, are also welcome at our meetings and also get a chance to talk. Everyone who attends a meeting gets a chance to talk. We have no restrictions on what people want to talk about. Our meetings are open to the public.
Transplant Support Group
Our main function is as a support group for transplant recipients. We are a patient driven group. Our support comes from being able to talk with transplant recipients, compare notes, and learn what is happening with other recipients. We give all members a chance to talk, tell their concerns with the medications and other concerns they may have about the transplant process.
Akron-Canton TRIO Newsletter
We send out a newsletter to our members every month. We try and include articles about transplant information in the news, related medical news, news of our members and upcoming events.
