Here are some pics of my Wing Thing (which has been under construction for a while) Forgive the out of focus shots. I borrowed the web cam and am still learning.  The pics are thumbnail links to bigger images (to save page loading time).

I probably will not get a chance to fly this before going to the Toledo RC show on Saturday, April 7. I cannot get my old wattage ESC to work with my Micro555 receiver. Jittery servos. Flustrating in the extreme! Anyway, look for me at the Toledo show! I have to stop by the Castle Creations booth for a Pixie ESC.

Almost ready to cover...

I can’t wait to get her in the air!

My slightly modified GWS motor unit, sitting in its saddle. The balsa supports the spruce spar (section from the Litestick fuselage). The balsa saddle also keeps the gearbox from twisting from side to side.

My, oh, my, that is a lot of equipment.  I sure will be glad to get a smaller (lighter) ESC in Toledo!.  A computer radio will help me get rid of the mixer.

Closeup of the Saddle. Note the notches in the inside corners to match the gearbox snugly.

I like how the control linkage turned out.

Motor unit showing the spruce spar through the holes I cut.

Think it will be this smooth after a few flights?.

A really poorly taken picture showing the holes I cut to allow the transverse mounting of the spruce spar.

I added these two servo mounting screws to hold down the motor.  I don’t know how effective they will be but I wanted to try.
